The road around the lake to the south leads to Ploermel which is about 2 miles away. It has a Friday street market selling vegetables, fish, meat and other things, three new national supermarkets, Credit Mutuel, Credit Agricole and other national banks, many restaurants and bars, shops for clothes, shoes, electrical and household products, jewellery, newsagents, chemists, flowers and most other needs. |

| Josselin (10 mins by car) A medieval town with the most beautiful Chateau reflected in the still waters of the River Oust. Josselin has lots of winding cobbled streets to wander through and some of the buildings date back to the 14th century and are well worth exploring. |

| The coastal resort of Vannes (a gentle 25 mins by car) with its pretty marina, harbour side cafes and restaurants, also it has a very good organic market as well as an impressive old city to wander round and visit the many interesting shops. |
| Rennes - the capital of Brittany (45 mins by car) with the river Vilaine running through it, is a mixture of Old town with its timber built houses, and New town. |
